"...lovely, dark, deep songs sewn up with a ribbon of country twang." - Boston Phoenix

"...a fresh and fierce songstress with a penchant for driving rock lullabies and gritty, gut-punching melodic hooks that hang in the air and do flips." - city of dis

"Kim Garrison's music waves between indie rock and willowy folk, between shadow and light, between ether and abyss. Half-angel, half-demon, a kind of spiritual daughter of Jeff Buckley and PJ Harvey."- Election Song

collected sounds - 'you are loved' review

Sweedish music blog did a nice lil review of 'you are loved' :

"Kim Garrison has a voice of a kind that few possess; it’s supple and yet beautifully fierce. Her debut album has songs to match and some choice covers...Beware of Water is minimal and expressive, Garrison recalling Tanya Donnelly’s lovely voice. She sings warningly of a siren hidden in the water."

album review from nyc music community - knocks from underground

pretty long review from the nyc community that is knocks from underground. here's an excerpt:

"Kim Garrison’s incredibly moving voice is the clear star of her debut album You Are Loved (2009 – Red Pants Records). Part of its show-stealing strength is that, simply put, Kim Garrison fits the definition of being “good.” She could easily fill a part in a Broadway musical, where range, crispness, and likability are key. But beyond that cookie-cutter ability, there’s a knowing edge, a hard coreness that understands a thing or two about being thrown around by life and could turn burly heads at a biker bar...You Are Loved is a platform for this singing talent, and an honest declaration from someone not afraid to share."

YOU ARE LOVED - Review by M-A Macon [city of dis]

"Come, let’s take this boat out to sea; I won’t let the tides of my heart drown me,” she invites in the opening line of the album’s first track, Treasure. Rife with maritime references and metaphors, this auditory introduction lulls the listener into Garrison’s aggressive, but lilting world of brazen love, loss and longing. Treasure opens the book of You Are Loved and serves as its seafaring table of contents. It’s keen. It’s sexy. It’s simple and it's sanguine."

'you are loved' - 1st review/blog mention

yeh! radio campaign/add date is officially tomorrow 2/10 and we have got our first radio station blog mention woo hoo check it -

The debut album from Kim Garrison, You are Loved, is an atmospheric, vocal-driven concoction, satisfyingly heavy but not dense. You are Loved has an ethereal tone to it, somewhat like the vocals of Bat for Lashes combined with smooth, complimentary instrumentation. A highlight of the album is the cover of Jeff Buckley’s “The Sky is a Landfill”, which shows off Kim’s vocal prowess, while still doing homage to the original.
